Pricing
One price. Both of you. No hourly anything.
Start free: answer the first questions, invite your partner, and agree the first thing on your list together. One payment of £249 then unlocks every other step, the agreement and the drafting for both of you. Court fees of £752 are extra and go to the court, whichever route you choose.
Agreeable Draft
For couples who've agreed and whose finances are straightforward.
- Guided financial picture for both of you
- Judge's fairness check as you go
- Consent order (your agreement in the court's wording) drafted from your answers
- D81 (the short finances summary the judge reads) drafted
- Plain-English version beside the court wording
- Filed with the court once the conditional order (the court's agreement in principle) is granted. That comes typically 2 to 6 weeks after you confirm you want to continue at the end of the 20 week wait
- We handle any question the judge sends back
- Parenting plan template (Cafcass, free; living arrangements go here, not in the court order)
Agreeable Reviewed
Everything in Draft, plus a real solicitor reads your deal before you sign.
- Everything in Draft
- Fixed-fee review by a family solicitor on our panel
- A written note on whether anything looks off for either of you
- 30-minute call for whichever of you wants it
- Recommended if either pension is final salary, or one of you ran the money
The price includes any VAT and there is nothing else to pay us. Split it between you if you like. If we tell you as we walk you through it that you need solicitors rather than us, you pay nothing.

What the same outcome costs elsewhere
A sealed consent order is a sealed consent order. The judge doesn't know or care who drafted it. The price difference is about how much help you need to reach the agreement. Market reference points, 2026, for scale only.
Fully DIY
Court fees only, £752
You draft the consent order and D81 from templates. Highest chance of the judge sending it back.
Agreeable
£249, both of you
Guided decisions, fairness check, drafting and filing. Solicitor review optional.
Family mediator plus drafting
£120 to £200 an hour each, usually 2 to 4 sessions, plus drafting
For couples with one or two sticking points. Mediator gets you to agreement, then someone drafts the order.
A solicitor each
Usually thousands each
Independent advice for each of you and negotiation between them. Right if you're far apart or the finances are complex.

Every other cost
What else you might pay, and to whom
None of these go to us. The two court fees apply to everyone (unless you get help with fees); which of the rest apply depends on what you're doing with the house and pensions. Figures are typical for 2026.
Court fee: divorce application
£690
Everyone. Covers the conditional order and the final order (the one that ends the marriage) too; those are free. Fee remission on low incomes.
Court fee: consent order
£62
Everyone who makes the money deal binding.
Replacement marriage certificate
£12.50
Only if you've lost the original. From the General Register Office.
Land Registry fee for the transfer of equity (moving the home into one name)
£20 to £140
If one of you keeps the home. Scale fee on the property's value; the conveyancer pays it and bills you.
Conveyancer for the transfer of equity
£300 to £600 plus VAT
If one of you keeps the home. Moves the title into one name alongside the remortgage.
Mortgage lender fees
£0 to £1,500
If one of you keeps the home. Product fee on the new mortgage, sometimes a valuation fee; a broker's fee if you use one (many are free to you).
Estate agent fees
1 to 1.5% of the price
If you sell. Valuations beforehand are free.
Pension scheme implementation charge
£0 to £2,000
If there's a pension sharing order. Set by the scheme; public-sector schemes publish theirs. The order says who pays.

New wills
£150 to £300 each
Both of you, after the final order. Divorce cuts an ex-spouse out of an existing will but leaves everything else as it was.

Only if you have sticking points. The government voucher covers up to £500 of mediation about children.

No stamp duty
Transferring the home between you under a consent order is exempt from stamp duty land tax, however much is owed on the mortgage.
Capital gains tax window
Transfers between separating spouses are free of capital gains tax for three tax years after the year you separate, and with no time limit if made under a court order. Matters for a second property or shares, not usually the family home.
Not sure which tier? Build your picture first. The fairness check will tell you if a solicitor review is worth it for your situation.
