Terms of use

The deal between us

Last updated 14 October 2026. Short, because it should be.

1. What Agreeable is

Agreeable, run by Costart Projects Ltd, is an online service for couples in England and Wales who have agreed, or nearly agreed, how to separate their finances. It explains the process, lets both of you build and confirm one shared financial picture, previews the documents involved and, where you ask us to, prepares the consent order and D81 statement for you to sign and file.

2. What Agreeable is not

We are not a law firm, we are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and we do not give legal advice. Everything on the site is general information about the law and process in England and Wales. Deciding what to agree to is yours. Where you choose the Reviewed tier, the review is carried out by an independent solicitor who acts for you under their own terms, not by us.

We are not a mediation service. If you're not agreed, we'll say so and point you elsewhere.

3. Your information

The figures you enter are yours to get right. The court relies on them through the D81 statement of truth you sign, and an order made on figures one of you knew were wrong can be reopened later. We don't verify them. If you enter information about your partner before they join, you confirm you have their agreement to do so.

4. Both of you

Each picture has two people. Either can change any figure; a change clears both confirmations for that step so nothing is signed off unseen. We don't take sides and we don't act for either of you against the other.

5. Documents

Document previews are illustrations of what goes on the court's forms. They are not the forms, and nothing is filed until you ask us to draft and both of you have signed. The court decides whether to approve a consent order; we can't guarantee it will.

6. Fees

Creating your picture, inviting your partner and agreeing the first step on your list is free. One payment of £249, by either of you, unlocks every remaining step, the agreement and the drafting and filing of the consent order and D81 for both of you. That price includes any VAT and there is nothing else to pay us. Payment is taken by card through Stripe. If you choose the Reviewed tier, the solicitor's fixed fee is agreed with them and paid to them. Court fees are set by HM Courts & Tribunals Service and are paid to the court, not us.

7. Cancelling and refunds

Building and sharing your picture is free, and you can stop at any time by deleting your account in Settings. After paying to unlock, you have 14 days to change your mind and get a full refund, as the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 provide; by paying you ask us to make the unlocked steps available straight away. If you ask us to draft inside those 14 days and we have done part of it, we can keep a fair amount for the work done; if we have sent you the finished documents, the service is complete and the cancellation right ends. To cancel, email hello@getagreeable.com from the address on your account. Refunds go back to the card used, within 14 days. Court fees are paid by you to the court and are covered by the court's own refund rules, not ours.

8. If something goes wrong

Tell us at hello@getagreeable.com with "Complaint" in the subject. We acknowledge within 2 working days and give a full answer within 14 days, or say why we need longer. If a draft we prepared is returned by the court for a reason that was our mistake, we correct it at no charge. If you are not satisfied with our answer you can use the government's guidance on consumer rights, including alternative dispute resolution, and nothing here takes away your right to go to court. We are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, so the Legal Ombudsman does not cover us; where you use the Reviewed tier, the solicitor's own complaints process and the Legal Ombudsman cover their work.

9. Accounts

Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings.

10. Our responsibility

We'll run the service with reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for decisions you make based on general information on the site, for the outcome of any court application, or for losses that aren't a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms. Nothing here limits liability where the law says it can't be limited.

11. Changes and ending

We may update the service and these terms; we'll flag anything that matters. You can stop using the service at any time. We may close accounts that misuse the service or that we reasonably believe are not being used by a separating couple.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
